superbly to produce some of the most exciting and challenging holes
you`ve ever played. Add to this, is the superb scenic beauty and

West no.18, a par five (5) across the Bay is one of those holes that
you just have to stand and appreciate for a while before you play
your shot. Yet to be officially measured from a newly constructed
tee ground this hole is a natural. The tee is in a very picturesque
location with body of water behind you. Take time to study the
clever designs that forces the player to the right with parallel
bunkers around the tee ground.
The landing areas are generous but as with all the other things,
the greedy golfer will be punished. A lovely roaming green well
guarded by bunkers, gives enjoyable putting and a chance to hole
a good putt.
This is a hole for the conversationalist and an undeniable example
of how golfers and course construction really do care about the
environment. The valley below have a ground for local resident
and the like which has been there undisturbed.
However, the panoramic view, a montage formed by nature,
the golf course and the clubhouse which imposes itself
upon the landscape overseeing on that area.
Do not hit it right! The safe player will hit the tee shot well
to the left, play a safe lay-up second shot, and have an easy
pitch shot. The daring player will hit his drive to the right
center of the fairway leaving himself with a great opportunity
to reach this par 5 in two, and finish out the round with a birdie. |
